Kurnool: The SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao said the government is striving to uplift the Scheduled Castes (SCs) on par with other castes. Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Jupudi stated that the government had allocated Rs 1,101 crore in the budget for SC Corporation.

He assured of taking up several development and welfare initiatives for the benefit of SCs. The corporation chief said 99,464 beneficiaries have been identified for this financial year through the SC Corporation. “Identifying genuine beneficiaries was done in a transparent manner,” he added.

Jupudi further said that the State government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore to the district for extending financial assistance to 500 beneficiaries. As many as one lakh SC students have been imparted skill training to enable them to get best placements in multinational companies in the State.

He urged the Dalit organisations to create awareness among the beneficiaries for the effective utilisation of the loans taken from the SC Corporation.

The government’s intention is to extend interest-free loans to the SC beneficiaries as is being sanctioned to the DWCRA groups, he added. He ordered the banks to sanction loans without any restrictions as per the advice of the Reserve Bank of India.
