MLCs Ramu Surya Rao (Godavari district), Boddu Nageswara Rao (Krishna, Guntur district) inaugurated the dharna camp. The MLCs warned the government that six Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) MLCs would be starting an indefinite hunger strike if the basement examination system was not cancelled.

MLC Ramu Surya Rao said that the educational department officials are implementing an anti-teacher policy in the district. He demanded the officials to withdraw their decision to entrust the teachers in non-teaching duties.

MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao stated that the District educational officials are trying to conduct basement examinations to the students in the schools, which would create a chaos among the teaching staff members and the students.

He alleged that the District Educational Officer’s behaviour seems to be degrading the teachers and stated that the teachers may not upload the marks of the students online. United Teachers Front (UTF) state general secretary P Babu Reddy demanded the government to withdraw the uploading system, which aimed to harass the teachers.
