Vijayawada: BJP Mahila Morcha national in-charge Daggubati Purandeswari said that the Central government has sanctioned
Rs 4,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh for the development activities. She, along with other BJP leaders, participated in the State and district leaders meeting here on Saturday.

Later, addressing a press conference, the Mahila Morcha leader said the Central government has sanctioned Rs 1,050 crore to the State for the construction of the capital city and another Rs 700 crore for the development of the backward districts in the State.

She said that the BJP national leadership has decided to depute two senior leaders to each State to strengthen the party. Two party secretaries Siddhartha Nath Singh and Arun Singh arrived in Vijayawada as part of the national policy and interacted with the party cadres here, she added.

Referring to Special Status issue, she said the Central government has decided to render assistance to 11 States in the country, including Andhra Pradesh, for the development activities and will allocate funds for it. She reiterated that the BJP is committed to the construction of the Polavaram project. BJP State president K Haribabu, MP Gokaraju Gangaraju, former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and other leaders were present.
