In the 13 districts, there are 3 lakh children in the age group of 3-6 years and the overall population in the State is 20 lakh.  They also demanded a Urdu college and implementation of 15-point programme for the welfare of the community where there is sizeable Muslim population. They urged the Minister to also sanction a Muslim Study Centre in the district.

Anantapur: Muslim minority leaders in a memorandum urged Minorities Welfare Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy to extend minority scholarships to all eligible students. Leaders Sanaullah, Fakruddin and Shaikshavali maintained that Muslim students studying in private schools are being preferred over government school students. As a result, they are moving away from education.This has to be corrected, the leaders said.The leaders demanded separate Anganwadis for Muslim children where they are predominant in any region.
