Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Satyanarayana disclosed that Bench comprising Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice Arun Mishra felt that the West Bengal Left Front government had failed to follow the rules of Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in acquiring 997 acres for Tata Motors’ Nano car plant in Singur, hence directed the government to return the land in 12 weeks. 

Visakhapatnam: Social activist and Congress leader Bolisetti Satyanarayana predicted that the Andhra Pradesh government, too, one day has to return the lands, which were acquired for the construction of capital city Amaravati, ports and airports, to the farmers as it has not followed the rules of Land Acquisition Act of 1894, as in the case of Singur in West Bengal.

He alleged that in Andhra Pradesh too, the TDP government is acquiring prime and valuable agriculture lands for non-agricultural purposes to construct the capital city, ports and airports without following the relevant Acts, therefore it will also be forced to return the lands to farmers in future.
