Kakinada: KSEZ Vyatireka Porata Committee (VPC) decried police action along with the KSEZ management. In a press release on Tuesday, the VPC leaders alleged that the KSEZ management in association with the local police destroyed grown-up casuarina plants planted by them three years ago.

VPC committee leaders Bavisetty Narayana Swamy and Chinta Suryanarayana Murty observed that when they were expecting crop yield in a year or two, the crops were destroyed overnight spread over 50 acres on first day of September.

In the press release addressed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday they said that the Leader of Opposition assured to return their lands after returning to power during his visit to the place in April 2012.

The VPC leaders reminded the Chief Minister to keep his promise and made it clear that they would not keep quite if the KSEZ management with the assistance of police would indulge in such undemocratic practices causing heavy losses to farmers.

They also alleged on Tuesday that though they lodged a written complaint with Kothapalli police station in U-Kothapalli mandal, no acknowledgement was given despite their repeated pleas.
