Banks asked to honour cheques by AgriGold
A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice SV Bhatt on Tuesday faulted the Branch Managers of ING and Indian Overseas Bank for not honouring cheques issued by AgriGold in spite of specific directions by the court.Â
A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice SV Bhatt on Tuesday faulted the Branch Managers of ING and Indian Overseas Bank for not honouring cheques issued by AgriGold in spite of specific directions by the court.
The court earlier directed certain sums to be released from the seized funds of AgriGold to the committee overseeing the sale by auction of certain AgriGold properties. The bench made clear that if the cheques presented are not honoured by Friday, the Branch Managers will be in court to purge them of contempt.
The bench took on file a list of 18 properties in three districts of AP and two districts of Telangana and required the respective State governments to submit a rough value of the said properties.
