GMC to introduce online system for work approvals
The Lead Winner Corp, an agency appointed by the State government, will provide necessary technology to introduce the new system. An app developed by the corporation will be downloaded in Android phones of the GMC engineers to record the details of progress of the engineering works, which will be sent to the higher officials in seconds. The officials will incorporate the data in the computers.
Amaravati: The Guntur Municipal Corporation for the first time in the State introduced online system to get approvals for engineering works and review progress of the works online.
The Lead Winner Corp, an agency appointed by the State government, will provide necessary technology to introduce the new system. An app developed by the corporation will be downloaded in Android phones of the GMC engineers to record the details of progress of the engineering works, which will be sent to the higher officials in seconds. The officials will incorporate the data in the computers.
Under the new system, the GMC officials will get approvals for works online. They will sanction the works and give work order online. If work is pending, GMC commissioner S Nagalakshmi will get details where the work is pending and question the official concerned immediately. The higher officials will monitor the progress of the work from their Android mobiles from the office.
Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner S Nagalakshmi said: “The GMC will supervise the development works online to speed up the execution of works. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate e-office system in GMC for the first time on a pilot basis soon.’’
