Eluru: The Left, YSRCP and Congress party workers staged a dharna at fire station centre here on Thursday, protesting against the Centre’s attitude on Special Category Status to the State. The workers of YSRCP, CPI, CPM and Congress took out a rally at the fire station centre and started the dharna.

The leaders alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to implement his assurance on Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and demanded the Centre to implement all the issues included in the AP Reorganisation Act, besides announcing Special Statusto the State. They also demanded completion of the Polavaram Irrigation Project, which was announced as National Project immediately.
