The assistant commissioner of labour department D Anjaneya Reddy said that the seven children are in the age group of 14 to 16 years. Four of them are from Bihar and are travelling to Bellary of Karnataka to work in MK Solvent industry. 

Vijayawada: The labour department rescued seven migrated child labourers at the city railway station on Thursday. The rescued children were sent to Navajeevan Balbhavan shelter home in the city.

The assistant commissioner of labour department D Anjaneya Reddy said that the seven children are in the age group of 14 to 16 years. Four of them are from Bihar and are travelling to Bellary of Karnataka to work in MK Solvent industry.

The other three are from Madhya Pradesh who have been brought to the city by a woman agent. Anjaneya Reddy said the rescued children were counselled and they will be sent to their parents with the help of Child Welfare Society. Navajeevan coordinator Malleswara Rao, counsellor Prasanna Raghava and other officers were present.
