Nellore: The Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) inked pact with Damien Foundation India Trust (DFIT) for working together on tuberculosis (TB) and its control measures in the region. Biotechnology wing of the VSU and foundation representatives entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the varsity premises here on Thursday.

Both will work on identification of the disease among communities, diagnosis activity for confirmation, treatment and follow-up together for better eradiation of the disease.

VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof V Veeraiah, Registrar Prof PR Sivasankar, Dean Prof Chandraiah, varsity college principal Prof P Venkata Rao, head of biotechnology wing Prof Vijay Anand, DFIT Secretary Dr M Shiva Kumar, Asia Regional Coordinator Luke and consultant Dr PH Vishnu have signed the MoU. Researchers from the varsity and foundation were also present.
