New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh had already been approved developmental projects and initiatives worth nearly Rs 1.65 lakh crore in the last two years some of these have been put in place and some more taking shape – and it would be entitled to another Rs 60,000 crore in lieu of the Special Status.

This is the summum bonum that is happening to AP to which the Centre could not accord the SCS due to legal constraints, clarified Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu slamming the Opposition for insisting on elusive SCS.

Arguing that quantifying the finances would inconvenience the State, Venkaiah Naidu said, “I am telling you this is the amount you got and will be getting at least. It is a continuous process and won't stop at a particular stage. Project-wise details of funding would be released in a couple of days.”

Those opposing should know better that insisting on the SCS which means a status quo. Don't you want development of the state? The Centre and the State are working in tandem to develop AP in a fast pace. The provisions made under the 13th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, are to materialise in 10 years.

We are so committed that several projects had already been sanctioned, approved and coming up on a fast pace." Venkaiah Naidu said that he was working tirelessly for the development of AP to the point of being criticised by some sections.

"I would work with the same frenzy come what may. It is a historical necessity that the State and Centre work together. It is absurd to demand either CM's resignation or break-up of the BJP-TDP alliance. We have the people's democratic mandate to remain in power for five years and would continue to do so in future if the people bless us.

Having neglected AP's interests while in power, today you question our commitment. You question the funding amount. Hope people understand the politics behind the agitation for the SCS. Why are investors keen on setting shop in AP?

It is because of the confidence they have in CBN's (Chandrababu Naidu’s) leadership and our team work. Why are you ignoring the equivalent and more benefits accruing to AP in lieu of the SCS," Naidu asked lambasting those seeking Chandrababu Naidu's resignation.
