Vijayawada: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan, an ally of the ruling BJP-TDP combine, is all set to go aggressive at his Kakinada meeting on Friday, seeking Special Category Status (SCS) to the state. Though appeared a bit soft on BJP and TDP at his Tirupati meeting that was held recently, the film star-turned-politician is likely to fire salvos at his two allies for going back on the promise of SCS.

Pawan Kalyan has already reached the Port City 24 hours ahead of his scheduled meeting. Camping in a guest house, the leader is holding consultations with his supporters on his “power-packed speech” for the day. He is also said to be collecting the views of his supporters on the package announced by the Centre, the reactions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the sentiments of the people, which were visible on Thursday across the State. He had reportedly expressed his displeasure over the package announced by the Centre and the soft comments made by Chandrababu Naidu.

“Special Category Status with all provisions as on February 20, 2014 when the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh promised it on the floor of Rajya Sabha, should be extended to the State, without a single deviation,” is all what the Power Star is set to declare from Kakinada according to sources.

It is said that the Jana Sena chief has ascertained the views of the youth and students from different universities on their expectations from the SCS which would form the major part of his powerful speech, the sources close to Pawan Kalyan said.

Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (CPI) had extended support to the Jana Sena’s Kakinada meeting. CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna said that the demand for the SCS was the right of the people and the party would support everyone raising the demand.

The CPI-M too had extended support to the Friday’s Kakinada meeting of the Jana Sena. The party expressed confidence that the Jana Sena chief would reflect the sentiments of the people on the SCS that was promised for the state at the time of bifurcation.
