Kurnool: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ake Ravi Krishna said timely donation of blood to the emergency patients could save their lives. Ravi Krishna attended as a chief guest at a donation camp organised by the Licensed Engineers Architecture Surveyors Association (LEASA) on the occasion of 49th birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya here on Thursday. Ravi Krishna expressed happiness over engineers celebrating the day by organising a blood donation camp.

Donating blood is nothing but to give another life to live, he stated. He said several deaths were taking place due to non-availability of blood in road mishap incidents. He advised motorists to follow the road safety norms while driving.

He called up on the people’s organizations, voluntary organizations, intellectuals and the youth to come forward to donate blood. As many as 50 engineers participated in the camp and donated blood. Later, the blood sachets were handed over to the Red Cross Blood Bank.

He appreciated the engineers for taking up a good work. He suggested the youth to bring awareness among the people about blood donation. Divisional Superintendent of Police D V Ramana Murty, LEASA Chairman Murali Mohan Rao, Circle Inspector Madhusudhan Rao, Organiser D Yohan, Red Cross Chairman Srinivasulu, Medical Officer M Padmavathi and Red Cross staff were present.
