Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham (APRS) general secretary KVV Prasad urged the government to take effective steps to check the
exploitation of dairy farmers by the private dairies in the State. Speaking at the APRS district meeting here on Wednesday, Prasad said
dairy has emerged as the main source of income for thousands of small and marginal farmers as well as farm labourers in drought prone
districts like Chittoor.

Though the milk price in the market going up, the dairy farmers are not benefitted as the private dairies are paying low price and
garnering the benefits, he said seeking the government to intervene and end the exploitation of dairy farmers by private dairies in
Chittoor district which are producing about 20 lakh litres milk per day. APRS leader M Rammohan, Anjinappa and others were present.
