Eluru: Two people died when a car ran over them, when they were returning after performing Ganesh Nimajjanam at Bhatlamaguturu
village in West Godavari district on Wednesday.
According to ASI Satyanarayana of Penumantra Police Station, a Ganesha idol procession was conducted from Srirampuram village to
Bhatlamaguturu in Penumantra mandal on Wednesday evening. Sriramula Srinivasa Rao (35), Naidu Satyam (65) and other villagers
participated in the procession.
After the procession, the organisers immersed the Ganesha idol in the canal at Bhatlamaguturu. Later while returning to their village, a
speedy car rammed into the mob. In this incident, Srinivasa Rao and Satyam died on the spot and a few were injured.
