The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) donor cell introduced a mobile application to benefit over 40,000 donors which facilitates them to book accommodation, Lord Balaji darshan and prasadam of the deity online.
Tirumala: The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) donor cell introduced a mobile application to benefit over 40,000 donors which facilitates them to book accommodation, Lord Balaji darshan and prasadam of the deity online.
Moreover, the mobile application generates digital passbook for the donations given by them to the TTD. The mobile application to be introduced under the donor management system will be available to donors full scale shortly.
According to TTD donor cell official Rajendrudu, devotees drop their offerings to the deity in the hundi, some others make a donation to various trusts being run by the TTD Corporates also make huge offerings to the TTD, which extends to the donors some special privilege as a token of gratitude.
The TTD gives passbooks to the donors. The passbooks should accompany the donors in their trip to Tirumala. They are entitled to free accommodation, free darshan and free laddus of Lord Balaji.
A person who donates between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh is eligible for accommodation of worth Rs 100 per day, six laddus and darshan of Lord Balaji through Suprabhatham. This is once-in-a-year privilege extended to five family members of the donor. Those who donate between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh are eligible for free darshan through Suprabhatam three times a year.
Five members of the donor’s family can avail the privilege. Also, the donor is eligible to get 10 laddus free of cost and the deity’s gold plated dollar. Those who donate between Rs 10 lakh and Rs one crore can avail themselves privileges like accommodation worth Rs 500 per day, VIP break darshan, VIP L-2 break darshan to the donor’s family of five thrice a year, 20 laddus and deity’s five-gram gold dollar and a silver dollar and clothes.
Those who donate in excess of Rs one crore are eligible for a Rs 2500-a-day suite, L-1 VIP break darshan of the deity, five-gram gold and silver dollars of the deity, clothes and laddus. Every time the donors visit, they should meet the concerned official at the donor cell and produce the passbook and make arrangements for the darshan and accommodation.
With the help of the mobile application, which was launched recently by the TTD executive officer Sambasiva Rao, the donors can book accommodation and darshan of the deity online. They can even donate from Re.1 to 99,999 online. The TTD provided provision to make all arrangements for the donor in the donor management system menu of the TTD portal.
Those who donate from Re 1 to Rs 1000 will get a mere receipt. Those who donate from Rs 1000 to Rs 99,9999 will get income-tax exemption. The application is useful in making donations to about 10 trusts, including BIRRD. The digital pass book is generated in two days.
