Visakhapatnam: To mark the occasion of the first Telugu talkie film Bhakta Prahlada completing 85 years, the Vizag Film Society (VFS)
has proposed to organise Telugu Film Festival from September 21 for three days at Visakha Public Library.

Revealing details to media persons here on Sunday, VFS secretary Narava Prakasa Rao said that the first Telugu talkie film Bhakta
Prahlada, which was released on September 15, 1931, created sensation in the Telugu film industry. He said the film was directed by H M
Reddy and it was made with a budget of Rs 18,000. Lamenting that even the senior most personalities of the cine industry were not
aware that Bhakta Prahlada was the first Telugu talkie film released in 1931, Prakasa Rao suggested them to organise celebrations on
15th of every September felicitating stalwarts in the industry.

About the festival, the secretary informed that Malli Pelli (1939) film which was acted and directed by Y V Rao as hero and
Kanchanamala as heroine would be screened on September 21 at 6 pm at the Public Library, Rangula Kala film (1983) on September 22,
the national award film Chandamama Kathalu on September 23. Prakasa Rao informed that the festival would be inaugurated by actor
Gollapudi and the entry is free.
