Krishna teams bag aquatic championship
Krishna district master aquatic men and women teams bagged Inter-District Aquatic Championship here on Sunday. Krishna District Amateur Aquatic Association conducted the inter-district championship at Sir Vijji Swimming Pool.

Krishna swimmers exhibited talent and lifted the championship. Nearly 175 men and women swimmers across the State participated in the event.
Competition conducted in 12 groups and each group have 15 events. Krishna swimmers won the men and women championship whereas Visakhapatnam stood in second place. Master swimmers participated enthusiastically in the State-level swimming competitions.
Earlier, Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and MLC Budha Venkanna inaugurated the inter-district championship.
Andalu Veerapandian, wife of Municipal Commissioner G Veerapandan gave away prizes to the winners and runners up.
AP Swimming Association secretary Mohan Venkata Rao, district president Obul Reddy, secretary I Ramesh, treasurer G Guru Prasad and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) swimming coach Suresh and others participated in the programme.
Krishna District Swimming Association secretary I Ramesh said that State team was selected for National master championship. Nationals would be conducted at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) swimming pool on October 22, he said.
