Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday asked the revenue and police officials to work in coordination and use technology for better results.The Chief Minister addressed a joint meeting of the Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) and the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) here.Naidu hinted at reforms in both revenue and police departments to give more powers to the RDOs and the DSPs.

However, he said that administration is not control but service and the powers to be given to them are to be used to provide better services to the people. He said that the reforms should help the officials to take the welfare programmes and other activities of the government close to the people.

Stating that best practices and effective work would bring better results, he recalled the initiatives of drought mitigation in Rayalaseema and elimination of faction and smuggling activities in the region. He further said that the State was able to overcome the power crisis in the State in a short period and the State is now power surplus.

The Chief Minister said that the Pattiseema Project had solved the water problems of the State including the Rayalaseema region. The Polavaram Project which would be completed by 2018 would make the State water surplus in the country, he asserted.

He said that the State had recorded double digit growth and no State in the country had achieved this record. It was all possible only with the best practices and quality initiatives that the government had adopted and implemented in the last two and a half years.

The Chief Minister further wanted the officials of all departments to think out of box and have innovative ideas for better performance.Referring to the initiatives of the police department, the Chief Minister congratulated the department for its better and quality services offered during the Krishna Pushkaralu. He said that the department had handled both law and order and traffic during Pushkaralu which made the event a grand success.

Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy said that both revenue and police departments are two eyes of the government. He wanted the two departments to work in better coordination right from the village level to the State level.Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, Health Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas, Chief Secretary S P Tucker and other senior officers were present.
