Amaravati: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna said that the party would conduct State-wide ‘Praja Ballot’ on the Special Category Status
(SCS) to secure the views of people from Vijayawada from Wednesday.

The programme will be conducted in all the districts of the State till September 30, he said. Ramakrishna spoke to the media in Guntur on
Monday. He alleged that BJP and TDP cheated the people of AP once again. They were trying to mislead the people by stating that special
package is better than SCS.

The CPI leader said Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu were making
contradictory statements on the special package. While Venkaiah announced that AP will get an assistance of Rs 2.25 lakh crore, the Chief
Minister said that the State will get Rs 75,000 crore under various schemes.

He demanded that funds allocated under SC, ST, BC Sub-Plans should be spent for those sections alone.
