Vijayawada: AP Congress Committee president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy here on Monday dared the TDP and BJP leadership to come for a debate on their 27 months of rule in the State and at the Centre.

He said he was ready to visit their party offices for the debate if the two parties preferred it. He further said that he was ready for the
debate even with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

Speaking to the media here, Raghuveera Reddy alleged that the two parties betrayed people on their poll promises. In the last 27
months, the parties failed to deliver what they had promised at the time of elections, he said.

He further added that the two parties have come to power making several promises to the people. The BJP won the elections by
promising, among others, to bring back the black money and pay Rs 15 lakh to the bank accounts of every individual and give one crore
jobs a year, he recalled and criticised the party for not living up to the promise.

He further said that the TDP had come to power by promising total loan waiver to the farmers, weavers and self-help groups and job for
every family, besides unemployment stipend. The TDP too had failed on these major promises, he said and added that the Congress
would take these issues to the people across the State.

The Congress leaders would present the election manifesto copies of the two parties and educate people on the failures of BJP and TDP,
he said.

The Congress chief took strong exception to the Central government leaving the Polavaram project to the State government against the
conditions laid in the AP Reorganisation Act.

“The Act says that the Central government should take over and complete the project. The Central government is responsible for getting
all clearances for the project,” he said and wondered how the Central government had given the project to the State against the Act.

AP Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri, city Congress president Malladi Vishnu, district Congress president Dhanekula Murali
Mohan and other leaders were present.
