Vijayawada: The entry of former Minister Devineni Nehru into the ruling party has caused friction in the party in Krishna district. At least
two legislators are said to be unhappy with the decision of the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to admit Nehru into the TDP.

Gannavaram legislator Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan and Penamaluru legislator Bode Prasad have reportedly expressed their displeasure
over Nehru’s entry into the party, while another legislator Gadde Ram Mohana Rao is believed to have expressed his discontent in private
to some party seniors. Both Vamsi and Ram Mohan had a tough time in taking on Nehru in the 2009 polls in Nehru’s turf of Gunadala
where his writ runs large. Nehru was then in the Congress. There has been no love lost between Nehru and Vamsi with supporters of both
leaders even clashing on the streets in the past.

Vamsi is also at loggerheads with Irrigation Minister and Devineni Nehru’s cousin, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, who is believed to be
instrumental in roping in Nehru into the TDP fold. Besides, Nehru’s son Avinash had apparently been promised the Penamaluru Assembly
seat in the 2019 elections. These rumors have irked the Penamaluru legislator Bode Prasad, who is said to have joined Vamsi in
registering his protest against the entry of Nehru.

Responding to the reports, Nehru said that his target was to strengthen the party and take the programmes of the government to the
people.

“I am not a leader for a single Assembly constituency, but have a strong hold across the district. If there is any disagreement regarding
my entry, it is the responsibility of Chandrababu Naidu to sort it out. He (Chandrababu Naidu) is capable of sorting things out, especially
dissidence,” said Nehru and added that he would be meeting the Chief Minister soon.
