TCS selects 526 students from GITAM

Visakhapatnam: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has selected 526 students of GITAM University during campus recruitment, according to
university training and placement wing director Gurumoorthy Gangadharan.

He said this is the highest placement record in Andhra Pradesh from a single campus.

Gangadharan said here on Monday that TCS also recruited students in the product category for niche services in research and digital
innovations labs. Placement this year would cross 3,000, he hoped. As of now, he said, 50 other recruiters had confirmed their dates to
conduct recruitment drives at GITAM.

“We are in TCS ‘A’ category list and the students will get good working experience in TCS,” said Vice-Chancellor Prof M Prasada Rao.

GITAM Hyderabad campus also equally performed and around 450 students from Hyderabad GITAM campus got placement offers during
last two months in different IT companies.

He said this year, they had put up more efforts to encourage students to start their own enterprises like startups in Visakhapatnam.

GITAM Institute of Technology Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad observed that the institute was giving more emphasis on bringing core
companies for the benefit of civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering students.

He informed that they were organising special training campus for the final year students and arranging pre-campus recruitment talks by
industry experts.

The university senior faculty members and training placement department officials participated in the programme.
