Vizag Navy Marathon on Nov 6

Visakhapatnam: The third edition of Vizag Navy Marathon will be held at RK Beach on November 6.

The idea behind this marathon is to make Vizag the landmark destination for the runners across India and make the marathon as a best
experience for the runner.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Command Adventure and Sports Officer, Eastern Naval Command Captain Animesh Nagar
said he wished to make Vizag a destination for runners.

“We are looking for at least 8,000 runners to participate in this edition while we had 5,000 last year,” he said.

“All the runners can register from the website at www.vizagnavymarathon.com. The run starts from Varun Beach opposite Hotel Novotel
and goes along the beach stretch towards Bhimili,” he said.

Speaking on this occasion, Muralidhar Nannapaneni who will take charge as race director of Vizag Marathon said as a doctor, he always
suggested his patients to run, which is the cheapest medicine for good health.

For the past few years, Vizag has well adopted running. Running could be actually used as a powerful tool to fulfill any cause for society,
he said.

The registration fee was announced as Rs 1,500 for full marathon (42.195 kilometres), Rs 1,300 for half marathon (21.1 km), Rs 1000
for 10 km and Rs 600 for five km.
