Visakhapatnam: Japan Higher Education Fair, jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Embassy of Japan, the University of Tokyo and Japan Information and Study Centre of Andhra University, was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the V-C said one should learn from Japan the importance of work culture and dedication. Prof Rao said that the world had to imbibe the work culture from Japanese and India and Japan have similarities since both have Buddhism and love for peaceful living.He further said that the Andhra University was exploring possibilities to have research and academic collaborations with the Japanese universities.

Daisuke Kodama, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in India, said that the Japan universities welcome the Indian students since they work hard and were strong in English communication.Yuji Nishikawa, Indian Liaison Representative of Japan Science and Technology Agency, said that there were good number of scholarships for Indian students who wish to pursue courses in science and engineering.

Hiroshi Yoshino, Director of the University of Tokyo, explained about the research opportunities for Indian students in University of Tokyo.Prof DVR Murthy, Director of the Japan Information and Study Centre spoke on the occasion.
