Rajamahendravaram: Rajamahendravaram urban district SP B Raja Kumari conducted a crime review meeting in the city on Wednesday. Officials in the meeting decided to strengthen visible policing, to formulate an action plan to prevent attacks on women and expedite investigation to arrest the accused persons.
The meeting also decided to strengthen staff to prevent property offences, robberies, house breaking, theft of motor bikes and chain-snatchings.
Raja Kumari directed the staff to focus on rowdy sheeters and to prevent road accidents by creating awareness on safety among public. She suggested for steps to control gambling, cock fights, single number lottery and hi-tech prostitution.
She also advised police personnel to prevent any untoward incidents during festivals like Diwali and Bakrid.
Later, the SP presented rewards to Prakasam Nagar Inspector Subrahmanyeswara Rao, head constable A Srinivasa Rao, constables M Prasad, K Suresh Babu and Ch Ashok who have recovered 244 grams of gold and Rs 30,000, which were stolen during Godavari Pushkarams.
