Eluru: Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha criticised YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and said that he has no moral right to address students. She stated that the opposition leader was remanded in jail over 16 months on corruption charges.

Addressing the media at her camp office at Sanivarapupeta on Wednesday, the Minister said that Jagan did not open his voice at Parliament during State’s bifurcation. She alleged that the Congress and YSRCP are responsible for the division of the State.

She appreciated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who she termed introduced many welfare schemes for the people of the State. She alleged that not bearing the popularity of the Chief Minister among public, the YSRCP is trying to throw mud on him. She said that freedom fighters, social workers and selfless people only interact with the students to make them good citizens. She suggested the YSRCP leader not to plant toxic seeds in the minds of students as they have good future.

The Minister said that the TDP Government is not against the Special Category status and it is the right of Andhra people. However, as the State is badly in need of funds, every rupee is important to the Government. In view of the state’s financial position the Chief Minister has welcomed the special package funds and at the same time the TDP will fight for special status. She said the Congress did not provide legality to the assurances made during the state bifurcation.
