Ongole: The police department is installing closed circuit cameras in and around the headquarters of Prakasam district to keep an eye on the movement of everyone in the roads of the town. IG Sanjay, MLAs Damacharla Janardhan and Muthumula Ashok Reddy witnessed a demo on the functioning of the advanced CC camera system in command control center of district police office on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police Trivikrama Varma explained the officials and public representatives that the department was going to install 92 CC cameras at 33 important locations in and around the town. With the monitoring room at the command control center, the officer could zoom into the number plate of any vehicle or alert the nearby constable to obstruct, follow a suspect or help a citizen. He gave a demo to the IG and others who were completely satisfied with the functioning of the system.
