Tirupati: The fourth phase of the special spiritual campaign ‘Ramanuja Ratha Yatra’ being taken up by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanas, on the occasion of the year long Sahasrabdi (millineum year) celebrations of well-known Vaishnavacharya Bhagavad Ramanuja, will take off from here on September 23.

The fourth phase will cover six pilgrim centres in Tamil Nadu and also stage Srinivasa Kalynam, a mythological based spiritual drama, at two places, from September 23 to 26.

It may be noted that Ramanujacharya rath yatra had kicked off on May 10 as part of the Vaishnavite saint’s 1000th jayanti. The ratham comprised the processional deities Malayappa Swamy and his consorts Sri Devi and Bhudevi along with Ramanujacharya idol.

The fourth phase of the Ramanujacharya ratha yatra will commence on September 23 at Tirumala and enter Tamil Nadu via Vellore and proceed to Salem where Srinivasa Kalyanam will be performed. On September 24, the ratha yatra will cover Sri Appa Kuduthas Perumal temple at Tiruppur town, Sri Edavalagi Nambi Perumal temple of Sri Tiruambil, Sri Pundarikakshan Perumal temple of Tiruvallarai and Sri Purushothaman Perumal temple at Thirukkaramanur and Sri Alagirimanaval Perumal temple at Thirukkoli.

On September 25, Ramanujacharya ratha yatra will cover Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple and will reach Tiruchi where Srinivasa Kalyanam will be performed. On September 26, ratham returns to Tirupati. The TTD appealed to the devotees at all locations to utilise the opportunity for darshan of Malayappa Swamy and Ammavaru.
