Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara University has bagged 601-800 rank, along with top prestigious universities and institutions Birla Institute of
Technology and Sciences (BITS, Pilani), Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, National Institute of Technology (Roorkela),
University of Calcutta, University of Delhi, Punjab University and Pune University, and stands number one in the South Indian
universities.

According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017, the survey of which was conducted for the 980 top
universities in the world and the rankings based on the five criteria namely teaching, research, citations, international outlook and
industry income, ranks were given to the universities world over, including India.

In the Southern States, Sri Venkateswara University stands alone surpassing all other universities.

Andhra University, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Cochin University of Science & Technology ranks with 801+.

A function was organised to celebrate the university achievement at SV University here on Thursday in which a host of officials, including
Vice-Chancellor A Damodharam, Registrar M Devarajlu, faculty and students attended.

Speaking on the occasion, Damodaram said that credit for university finding a place in world ranking goes to efforts of the employees
and teachers. He wanted them to strive to take the university to further heights.

Sri Venkateswara University scores highest in research (11.5) and citations (11.2) compared to the above universities.
