Visakhapatnam: Efforts of Koyyuru Circle police bore fruit with the launch of Vijayosthu program to impart coaching for educated tribal youths including females for the ensuing police constable and jail warder selections, on Friday.

The initiative was taken up by the circle police personnel and Inspector R Mallikarjuna Rao as part of community policing program, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma, Officer on Special Duty Attada Babujee and ASP Narsipatnam Aishwarya Rasthogi,

It evoked good response and the 15-day coaching program was launched successfully in KD Peta. A total of 46 candidates including nine female candidates from Koyyuru, Mampa and KD Peta police station limits attended the inaugural classes at the social welfare hostel building.

Inspector Mallikarjuna Rao informed The Hans India that they have identified six resource persons to teach mathematics, reasoning, English, biology, social and physical sciences. He said the candidates would be given notes on current affairs and general knowledge, apart from study material. The Inspector said they had also arranged motivational classes by a psychology professor. “We have arranged free accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner to the candidates and above all security,” he added.

Assistant Tribal Welfare Officers N Srinivasa Rao and P S S N Patnaik, sarpanches and village elders attended the inaugural session.
