Medical specialists deputed to Chintur division
East Godavari medical and health authorities deputed specialist doctors from Kakinada Government General Hospital (KGGH) and Rangaraya Medical College to Chintur government hospital on Friday.

It may be recalled here that several malaria and kidney problem cases among tribals were being referred to KGGH for medical aid from V R Puram mandal and adjacent areas under Chintur revenue division known as Polavaram-submerging areas.
With the extension of medical aid by specialist doctors from KGGH in the last two days, it is said that the overall situation improved to some extent in the area. According to East Godavari DMHO Dr K Chandrayya, additional medical equipment, were sent to Chintur CHC to cater to the local medical needs.
“We directed the staff in these areas to extend medical aid there itself for needy cases instead of referring the cases to Kakinada teaching hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile the efforts to contact East Godavari Excise and Enforcement DC to speak about the measures being initiated by their department in checking the making of illicit brew in Chanter division was not possible.
