Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): Girl students boycotted school demanding higher officials to protect them from a teacher, who was accused of harassing students from the past few months.

Students of Zilla Parishad High School, Sivannapeta in Kurupam mandal of Vizianagaram district were reluctant to go to school and accused Madhava Rao, who was working as physical educational teacher (PET), of harassing them for the past few months.

They said that the PET was touching them inappropriately and threatened them of severe consequences, if they reveal the same at their homes.

Vexed with his behaviour, the students boycotted the classes on Friday. In-charge head master Laxum Naidu visited the homes of the girls and inquired about the reason behind their boycott.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Education Officer Aruna Kumari said that they were awaiting more details. “We have to get the complete details on this issue and will conduct inquiry. Waiting for further details” she said.
