4-day workshop on Cloud Computing concludes
A four-day State-level workshop on ‘Cloud Computing’, organised by Siemen’s Centre Of Excellence in association with Andhra Pradesh
Guntur: A four-day State-level workshop on ‘Cloud Computing’, organised by Siemen’s Centre Of Excellence in association with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India (CCICI), concluded at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) on Sunday. Vijayashankar, Ravi Chaganti of Microsoft and Ajitha, Mahendran, Prapulla Kumar of CDAC and Dr P Syam Kumar of IDRBT acted as resource persons and trained faculty members on Cloud Computing for the past four days. The teachers who were trained in this highly advanced technology will help in enhancing the skill coefficient of the students in different colleges, who aspire for technology jobs.
In the felicitation ceremony of this 4-days workshop, Praveen from CCICI said that a lot of changes were taking place in the field of science and technology. He said that cloud computing was one such area which was going to see revolutionary changes in the coming days, in the field of education, small startup businesses, decision making, e-commerce etc.
Ramesh of APSSDC also emphasised that Government of Andhra Pradesh was very keen on utilising the benefits of Cloud Computing Technology for the upliftment of economy and societal advancement, in the areas of globalisation, public services, accessibility and deliverability of government schemes and thereby to set standards of living in the newly-formed State and in the entire country.
As part of this, faculty members from more than 100 engineering colleges were participated in the workshop. These faculty members will train students at their respective colleges. Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman, VVIT expressed his happiness over choosing VVIT as the venue for the coveted workshop where experts from Microsoft, C-DAC, IDRBT and APSSDC, visited and shared their knowledge in this workshop and trained the faculty members.
Certificate distribution for the participants from various institutes has been done by the SDC chief officials. Praveen, Tirumal from CCICI, Ravi, Vijay Sankar from Microsoft, Ramesh and other officials from APSSDC, faculty members from various colleges in the State, experts arranged by APSSDC were present.
