Vijayawada: Tough competition witnessed for the posts of Sub-Inspector of Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police in communication and Finger Print Bureau in the State as 13,535 applications were received till the last day (September 25). The government advertised for 28 posts on August 24. In a press release, Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLRB) chairman Atul Singh said that there were 12,357 male candidates and 1,178 female candidates submitted online applications. Post graduates, graduates and diploma holders also applied for the SI and ASI posts, he said.

There were 886 diploma holders, 10,348 graduates and 569 other degree holders and 1,732 post-graduates applied for these posts, he said. The physical measurement and physical efficiency tests for men would be held at APSP Battalion Ground at Mangalagiri in Guntur district from October 13. For women, the tests would be held on October 17. Candidates can download their call-letters from September 26 by logging on to recruitment.appolice.gov.in, he said.

The chairman further said that date and time of reporting at the venue for the test would be mentioned in the call-letter.
