Puttaparthi (Anantapur): Minister for IT and Minorities Welfare Palle Raghunatha Reddy praised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as a great leader, as he has provided wise leadership to the State after bifurcation.

Addressing a mandal party leaders meeting here on Tuesday, Palle reiterated that the TDP government is pro-poor and is committed to the welfare of the poor and the weaker sections of the society. He said that prior to 2014 elections, Naidu moved at the plight of the farmers during his padayatra in the district and announced loan waiver to farmers saying that if he is voted to power he will implement the promise and he fulfilled his promise immediately signing the loan waiver file.

He said that Rs 24,000 crore had been waived benefiting 80 lakh families in the State. In Anantapur district, eight lakh families benefited with the waiver of Rs 2,765 crore. Pensions to the poor, widows and the physically challenged were also the election promises fullfilled by him.

He stated that the Chief Minister has special love for the district as he has allocated Rs 600 crore for one lakh farm ponds in the district aimed at recharging the ground water table in the district. The Minister regerttted that the party workers have not taken up adequately the propagation of government achievements among the people.

He called upon the party workers to take the achievements message to the door steps of the people in rural areas. Mandal party leaders from Puttaparthi, OD Cheruvu, Nallamada, Bukkapatnam, Kothacheruvu and Amadaguru mandals participated.
