Tirupati: Chittoor district BJP is gearing up for the regional-level awareness meeting in which its senior leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will address the party cadres here on October 1.The Union Minister attended similar meetings in Visakhapatnam and a few days ago in Vijayawada.
The meeting is for Naidu to explain the party cadres on the merits of the Rs 2.25 lakh crore special package to the State and explain them that the special package is much more advantageous to the funds starved residuary State of Andhra Pradesh than the Special Category Status (SCS) and motivate them to go all out in repulsing the Opposition disinformation campaign on SCS, said party district president B Chandra Reddy.
Reddy said that already two rounds of meeting of party functionaries and senior leaders in the district on mobilising the party cadres and sympathisers to Naidu’s meeting was over. The regional-level awareness meeting is crucial in the context of Opposition parties, including the Congress and Communist parties, stepping up their attack on the TDP-BJP combine and more so on Venaiah Naidu targeting him more than any others on
SCS issue.
Meanwhile, party State spokesperson and TTD Trust Board member G Bhanuprakash Reddy addressing the media here on Thursday said that a motor cycle rally will be taken out from the airport at Renigunta to PLR Convention Hall where the regional-level meeting will be held here on Sunday.
As the Opposition parties deliberately trying to create suspicion on many major projects in the State, including the multi-crore NBPPL at Mannavaram and also Tribal University, alleging that they are being shifted from the State, Naidu will take the opportunity to dispel the doubts and also pooh-poohed the Opposition baseless allegations, Reddy said.Party district general secretary S Srinivas, leaders Ajay Kumar, Varaprasad and others present.
