Clean drains: Commissioner

Visakhapatnam: Municipal Commissioner M Harinarayanan as part of his regular field visits, interacted with the residents of J N R Nagar and Bilal Colony near Venkojipalem under the limits of municipal zone-2 on Friday regarding encroachments and other basic civic problems.
The Commissioner assured the members of J N R Nagar Welfare Association that justice will be done after taking the court cases into consideration and directed the sanitary staff to clean up the drains near the Sri Murali Krishna Meditation Centre. Responding to the plea for speed breakers and to take up plantation with proper fencing in the colony, he assured that it would be done shortly.
Later, the Commissioner visited the Bilal colony where he assured to construct public toilets and to redress the issue of water line, the colony residents were asked to attend the meeting held on October 3. When visited Ramalayam street, Venkojipalem, the Commissioner asked the Superintendent Engineer of Under Ground Drainage Venkateswara Rao to immediately attend to the leakages.
He also asked the Executive Engineer Rammohan to prepare estimates for laying a road through the vacant site near Venkata Sai Granites and Marbles, MVP Double Road. Zonal Commissioner P Nallanaiah and others were also present.
