Visakhapatnam: The Eastern Fleet organised a health camp at Rama Krishna Mission High school in Maharanipeta in the city on Friday.The Camp was inaugurated by Surgeon Commodore Rahul Ray, Commanding Officer, INHS Kalyani.

Rear Admiral SV Bhokare, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet and Meena Bhokare along with Swami Atmavidanandaji Maharaj, secretary RK Mission Ashram and Swami Guneshanadaji Maharaj, in-charge RK Mission high school were present.

The aim of the camp was to bring about health awareness in the school children and the teachers towards transforming the schools into healthy children- healthy schools. The camp was organised with eight naval doctors including a woman gynaecologist and 20 medical assistants and supporting staff.

Around 253 children from classes VI to Class X were examined and checked for developmental milestones, eye, ENT and dental issues. In addition 130 girls were examined by the gynaecologist and rendered advice.

Addressing the students and teachers during the health camp, Rear Admiral Bhokare stressed upon washing of hands regularly and to adhere to healthy practices. A lecture cum demonstration on basic first aid for school children was delivered by medical Officers. Meena Bhokare also actively interacted with students and teachers. The camp had created desire in children to join the Indian Navy.
