Genco Managing Director gets International Leadership Excellence award
The awards were announced by Institute of Economic Studies, Delhi-based economic studies Institute. International Leadership Innovations Excellence award was presented to K Vijayanand at an INDO-THAI Economic co-operation seminar held in Bangkok on Saturday night.
Vijayawada: APGenco Managing Director K Vijayanand won the International Leadership Innovations Excellence award for his contribution to the power generation in Andhra Pradesh.Genco also secured the gold medal for achievements in power production.
The awards were announced by Institute of Economic Studies, Delhi-based economic studies Institute. International Leadership Innovations Excellence award was presented to K Vijayanand at an INDO-THAI Economic co-operation seminar held in Bangkok on Saturday night.
Former Deputy Prime Minster of Thailand, Korn Dabbransi, and Kosavo Honorary Republic Council Dr Mom Luang Rajadarasri Jayankura presented the award to Vijayanand in the presence of Indian Ambassador in Thailand Bhagwanth Sing Bishno. Speaking on the occasion, Vijayanand said the APGenco power production capacity is 5408 MW in the State. He further said the power production capacity increased by 1500 MW after bifurcation of the State.
He informed that the Central Electrical Authority, Central power utilities, Energia Foundation and other prestigious companies recognised APGenco as one of the best power producing corporations in the country. He attributed the success to the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and workers and officials of Genco. Institute of Economic Studies president Yogendra Prasad and others were present on the occasion.
