Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his resolve to steer party with technological edge over his rivals in the upcoming 2019 elections.
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his resolve to steer party with technological edge over his rivals in the upcoming 2019 elections.
He convened a three-day workshop at KL University here on Tuesday, involving the MLAs, MPs, district party presidents and in-charges of Assembly constituencies to send his message across in unequivocal terms. Naidu, known for his electioneering skills, was understood to prepare the party apparatus for the polls much before the D-day.
In his one-and-a-half hour marathon address, he stressed the need for the party ranks, especially the sitting MLAs, MPs and the ticket seekers to become e-literates and deliver the government’s welfare measures to the people by making use of the IT.
He also wanted the ruling party to counter the opposition’s anti-government campaign by using the IT as a powerful medium.
He exhorted the leaders to learn the basics in operation of tabs, laptops and apps such as telegram, Instagram and WhatsApp to meet the objective. Chandrababu called the CMO officials handling IT and IT Infrastructure to assist the organisations in conducting training classes on IT.
Naidu disclose that the party’s IT wing has developed an app, which intended to get the feel of the public on the government’s performance in the last two and a half years and it will be launched shortly.
The App will also be put to use to rate the performance of the party MLAs, MPs and Ministers in their respective constituencies. Naidu wanted the party ranks to adopt innovative methods by harnessing technology to reach to the people at the grassroots level by devising short-term and long term plans.
The Chief Minister asked the party leaders to accommodate the cadres of the YSRC who joined the TDP and work in close coordination. He also highlighted the need to draw lessons from the party’s electoral reverses in the previous elections by striving to ensure unity within the party.
Naidu expressed his happiness over allotting Central institutes to the State and asked the Union government to allot Rs 10,000 crore to ground these institutions in next six years. “State will emerge as railway corridor by interlinking with Raipur -Khargapur corridor.
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh put forward a proposal for the same,” he added. Party State president Kala Venkata Rao, Union Minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishna, deputy Chief Ministers KE Krishna Murthy, N Chinarajappa and other leaders were also present.
