Special team to assess crop damage
Scientists from Agriculture Research Station, Maruteru, Yeruwaka scientists and the representatives of Andhra Pradesh seeds have visited fields in these areas on Wednesday when the agriculture department scientists have brought the complaint of farmers that off type plants have occurred in the fields.Â
​Rajamahendravaram: Associate ,Dean Agriculture Research Station, Maruteru, Paladugu Satyannarayana admitted that off type rice plants have been occurring in farm fields where RP Bio variety of seeds were sown. It may be recalled here that RP Bio seeds have been distributed to farmers in mandals like rural Rajamahendravaram, Peddapuram and Pithapuram by Andhra Pradesh Seeds Development Corporation through agriculture department.
Scientists from Agriculture Research Station, Maruteru, Yeruwaka scientists and the representatives of Andhra Pradesh seeds have visited fields in these areas on Wednesday when the agriculture department scientists have brought the complaint of farmers that off type plants have occurred in the fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyannarayana mentioned that RP Bio variety seeds have been supplied to farmers as an alternative to BPT 5204 variety. He mentioned that a special team will visit these fields to assess the damage to crops.
