Telugu varsity plans to bring out encyclopaedia on Telangana districts

​Hyderabad: Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University is planning to bring out encyclopaedia for each district in Telangana State and also a dictionary of Telangana language.

This was announced by University Vice-Chancellor S V Satyanarayana during a press conference here on Wednesday. He said that at present there was some information about Telangana history and culture but this information was mostly substandard.

Telangana has a history of 1,000 years right from the Satavahana period in 12th Century, which will also be part of the encyclopaedia. “We will appoint experts in the field with the help of UGC and State government funds. It will be an effort to institutionalise the work of individuals,” said Satyanarayana.
