Collector asks grads to enroll in voters list

Visakhapatnam: District Collector Praveen Kumar appealed to the graduate voters of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts to register their names in the voters’ list of North Andhra Graduates’ Constituency before November 5.

He told reporters, here on Friday, that the notification was issued on October 1 and the first and second lists would be released on October 15 and 25 while the draft list will be issued on November 23. The Collector informed that claims and objections in this regard will be received up to December 8, claims or objections if any will be resolved on December 26 and the final list will be published on December 30.

Those candidates who completed their graduation in three years and residing in the limits of the North Andhra Graduates’ Constituency are only eligible to register their names in the voters’ list, either through online or in person in Form-18.

Praveen Kumar informed that those working in various organisations could send all their applications at once through their proprietors to the Electoral Registration Officers which was opposed by the representatives of political parties.

He said the voting candidates must enclose attested degree certificate along with the application form. The district revenue officials of the three districts were appointed as Electoral Registration Officers, while the Divisional Revenue Officers and mandal Tahsildars as Assistant Electoral Registration Officers.

Mandal Development Officers and the Municipal Zonal Officers were appointed as Designated Officers to receive claims from public.
