Visakhapatnam: Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao laid stones for 12 developmental works worth Rs 2.03 crore at Yendada village in the limits of Ward No. 6 , here on Friday.Later, speaking at a public meeting, the Minister informed that works worth Rs 20.51 crore have been taken up so far in Ward nos. 4, 5 and 6 as the government is committed to develop the city, despite heavy financial crisis after bifurcation of united AP. Stating that 14,856 pensions will be given additionally to the beneficiaries in the GVMC limits, Ganta said the government is spending over Rs 10 crore for the disbursement of all types of monthly pensions.

Besides proposals to lay six-lane road between Vizag and Bhimili, road widening from Highway to Beach, road widening at Yendada petrol bunk, laying of double road from Beach to Rushikonda and Sagarnagar to Beach would be sent to the government for approval, he added.

Municipal Commissioner M Harinarayanan said that they were taking up development works in the Ward Nos 4, 5 and 6 which include C C roads, drains and toilets. Municipal Zonal Commissioner Satyaveni, TDP sixth ward president Ch Gopi and others participated.
