​Hyderabad: Veeraghattam in Srikakulam district and Vizianagaram received six cm of rainfall each during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Saturday, as rain occurred at a few places in the coastal districts, while dry weather prevailed in Rayalaseema.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) in the State were: Amalapuram (East Godavari dsitrict), Anakapalle (Visakhapatnam), Nellimarla (Vizianagaram) 5 each, Araku Valley (Visakhapatnam), Mentada (Vizianagaram), Chodavaram (Vishakhapatnam), Srungavarapukota, Pusapatirega (both in Vizianagaram) 4 each.

According to the bulletin, there was an appreciable fall in the day temperatures in coastal Andhra and no large change in Rayalaseema. The forecast said as Friday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over Odisha and its neighbourhood extending up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level, tilting south-westwards with height, is persisting, there will be light to

moderate rain/thundershowers at many places in the coastal districts and at isolated places in Rayalaseema from October 9 to 12.
