Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated his office in Amaravati at the newly-built Headquarters and Secretariat at Velagapudi. The inauguration was attended by hundreds of employees from Secretariat, Ministers, MLAs and TDP leaders.

The blocks of the temporary secretariat are ready and the work has already begun on October 3 with government departments, heads of departments, and staff shifting to Velagapudi.

As per the deadline issued by the Chief Minister, the temporary Secretariat started functioning in the last week of June but not all the offices moved to the building due to the incomplete work and shifted to temporary offices at Vijayawada.

Out of the six blocks, block one is the Chief Minister's office, one is for Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council while the remaining belong to other departments. A central Command and Control Centre is being set up in the first block as Chandrababu wants to be in the loop constantly by live monitoring of various activities of the government across the state.
