Kakinada: A detailed inquiry was ordered on recent tribal deaths in Agency area in East Godavari district, said Karem Sivaji, Chairperson, SC/ST Commission. He reviewed the medical facilities being provided in Agency mandals with S Satyanarayana, Joint Collector, Chakradhar Babu PO, ITDA and medical and health department officials at R&B guest house in Kakinada on Thursday.

In this connection he said that a thorough inquiry will be conducted on these deaths and added that action will be taken up on those who are responsible for these incidents. He also directed the officials to make all the 16 ambulances road-worthy as the reports get ready in the coming five days. He also directed them to alert village teams to inform the government on latest health issues.He said that he would bring to the notice of the government on hike in remuneration to doctors working in Agency and on other infrastructure facilities.

The establishment of a sub-centre in Lododdi and the appointment of 12 specialists on a rotation basis were also directed by him. District Collector H Arun Kumar appraised the chairperson at R&B guest house on Agency health issues. District coordinator, Dr Ramesh Kishore, DMHO, Dr K Chnadraiah, Additional DMHO Agency and Dr M Pavan Kumar attended the meeting.
