Pithapuram: There are many gardens like the rose garden, the Moghul Garden, the Brindavan Garden and many more in the country. But the garden in Durgada village of Gollaprolu mandal begs to differ. The plants in it correspond to each of the 27 stars in the zodiac.

According to young astrologer of the village Dwibhashyam Kavi Kiran Sarma, the plants have been gathered from various places and kept in ‘Nakshatra Garden’ on the premises of Kanaka Durga temple to help people rectify defects in their astrological charts. The relationship between astrology and humans date back to several hundreds of years. Humans always strive to overcome the defects in their birth charts looking for remedy or the other.

According to astrology, people can derive better results by way of planting saplings specific to their stars and zodiac signs and going round the specific trees mentioned in the astrology. Also, the Ayurveda outlines that people can greatly improve upon their health by growing certain specific species of trees in their environs. The ‘Nakshatra Vanam’ is based on the same philosophy.

The astrologer says that all the 27 plants have been kept at one place to enable people, who have the stars in inferior positions in their birth charts, to take remedial action. He disclosed his plans to establish ‘Raasi Vanam’ (garden for various zodiacal signs), ‘Saptarishi Vanam’, ‘Trimurti Vanam’ and ‘Saraswati Vanam’ in future.

Watering the plants in the proposed gardens and going round various trees in the gardens, people would be able to achieve better results, he elaborated. Earlier, special pujas were performed to Goddess Kanaka Durga. The temple committee members also participated in the programme.
